The Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears never fail to create a little drama when they come together on the field. Three years ago, I’m sure you’ll never forget the last-second touchdown catch by Calvin Johnson that was ruled incomplete, giving Chicago the win. How about the time Roy Williams guaranteed a win against Chicago in 2006 only to get trounced?
Of course, the latest drama seems to always come from defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh who, apparently, hates Jay Cutler more than any other quarterback in the NFL — as witnessed by his vicious hits on the 8-year veteran.
But, alas, we have something new between the teams. This week, Johnson was asked about his opinion on the Bears and if it was easy for him to hate the team.
It’s easy to have a dislike for them,” Johnson said Thursday, according to the team’s website. “It’s not hard at all.
“They want to make the offense make a mistake, make you work your way all the way down the field, dump it off 5, 10 yards at a time,” Johnson said in regards to the Bears defense. “Usually an offense will make a mistake and that’s one area I think we’ve grown in.”
