Jamaal Charles Needs To Keep Up Production For Kansas City Chiefs To Keep On Winning
The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a hot 3-0 start, but Jamaal Charles needs to keep up his production for the team to keep on winning.
Charles has been a great receiver and running back so far.
In Week 1 he rushed for 77 yards and a TD. He also had 23 receiving yards. In Week 2 he rushed for just 55 yards, but also had 48 receiving yards and a TD. However, it was in Week 3 when he really went off. Charles had 92 rushing yards and a TD and also had 80 receiving yards.
Charles is not going to get 80 receiving yards a game, but he is still going to get his fair share. He needs to be more consistent on the ground, though. His 92-yard performance was a sign of great things to come.
Alex Smith is not going to throw for the most TDs or passing yards in a season, but he is still a great quarterback. Where Smith is slacking in yards is where the running game needs to step up. It is important to note that Smith does have the second most rushing yards on the team with 114.
Charles is one of the best backs in the league and he needs to have more performances like the one he had in Week 3 for this team to be successful.
The Chiefs are one year removed from being the worst team in the NFL. That will likely change this season and a lot of that has to do with Smith taking over the offense and Andy Reid becoming the new head coach.
Whether the case, Charles is a great running back to say the least and the offense needs him to come up big every game. However, I am sure Smith will have his fair share of good games as well.
