Rushing Game Has To Get Better For Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins may be 3-0, but their rushing game has to get better.

The Dolphins will be going up against one of the best offenses in the league in Week 4 when they face Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans is not the best at stopping the run and Miami is clearly not a good rushing team so far this season.

The team is averaging 70.3 rushing yards per game, which is good enough for 28th in the league. Ryan Tannehill is a great young quarterback, but he is not good enough to carry an offense for 16 games… yet.

Lamar Miller is leading the team in rushing yards with 134 on the year. It is important to note that he did only have three yards in the first game of the season against the Cleveland Browns. He also has not been getting that many attempts. He has 32 on the season. Doug Martin is leading the NFL with 72 rushing attempts.

Miami has been great so far and it has already beaten a couple of playoff teams from last year.

I assume Mike Wallace will step up his game soon, which will be great for the receiving game, but something has to give with the rushing game. Hopefully that will be Miller and co. getting much better.

Whether the case, the Dolphins are off to a great start and they have the best record in the NFL (tied with other teams of course). It will be interesting to see if the rushing game can come alive against New Orleans and it will be even more interesting to see if Miami can go 4-0.
