Buffalo Bills Week 5: Cleveland Browns’ Josh Gordon is Second Head Of Cerberus

Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Josh Gordon has been a pleasant surprise since coming into the league last season, as he had 50 catches for 805 yards with five receiving touchdowns. So far this season, he has had 14 catches for 207 yards and a touchdown even after missing the first two games due to suspension, so he is clearly on pace to torch that mark he set last year.

What’s really impressive about him is that he missed a season in his college due to off-field issues for the Baylor University Bears in 2010, and ultimately transferred to the University of Utah Utes in 2011. However, he never played for them and declared himself eligible for the 2011 supplemental draft, where the Browns took him in the second round.

This would result in forfeiting their second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Gordon stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 225 pounds, and he is extremely difficult to bring down due to his immense strength, not to mention freakish speed for his size, which allowed him to run a 4.4 second 40-yard dash.

Gordon should be fairly successful as the Buffalo Bills secondary has been beaten down greatly. Their top three cornerbacks, Stephon GilmoreRon Brooks and Leodis McKelvin, have been hurt for at least one game this year. Safety Aaron Williams has been flipping back and forth between cornerback as well due to lack of healthy players.

It should be interesting to see if the Bills can contain and weather the storm of Gordon in prime time just like how they survived Torrey Smith and the Baltimore Ravens and won.
