After failed stints with the New York Jets last year and the New England Patriots this past preseason, one of the biggest questions heading into 2013 was whether or not Tim Tebow would receive another shot in the NFL. Despite being a former first-round pick, Tebow has struggled with his quarterback mechanics at the NFL level and while it seemed like he would be better off playing in a different league–one of the top Jacksonville Jaguars rumors on Thursday involves how he’s going to receive a chance to make the team.
Terez Owens is reporting the Jaguars are going to give Tebow another shot at playing quarterback in the NFL–which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering the high demand from fans for the organization to sign the quarterback. After scoring just 31 points over their first four games, it’s safe to say Jacksonville isn’t going to be a playoff contender once again this year and with all of the uncertainty surrounding Blaine Gabbert at quarterback–the team has nothing to lose by signing Tebow.
As Terez Owens indicates, bringing Tebow on board can only boost merchandise and ticket sales for the remainder of the 2013 season and with the way the Jaguars are playing–the organization is going to need all of the help they can get. Jacksonville fans have been asking for Tebow for quite some time now–so keep an eye on this story to see what happens over the next day or so.
