Another day means another “update” on the status of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. This time, people are hearing that Gronkowski is “not sure yet” of when he will make his return.
Here we go again. We hear that Gronkowski is doing well, then we hear that he has a setback. Then we hear it’ll be awhile, only to hear a reporter who says that Gronkowski is going to play. It seems like every NFL reporter is split on what Gronkowski’s status really is. ESPN reporter Adam Schefter has said that he thinks Gronkowski is looking game-ready. FOX reporter Jay Glazer said he heard that Gronkowski is targeting a return in Week 6. These reporters are literally all over the map with this situation.
There’s only one reason as to why some of the most refutable reporters in football cannot seem to get a good read on Gronkowski. It’s because Patriots people don’t even know when Gronk will return. To take that one step further, Gronk and his people probably don’t know when the star tight end is going to see the football field once again. The most likely scenario is that Gronk is taking his sweet time because of the all the injuries that he has suffered so far in his career.
It’s hard to blame the big man for wanting to take his time. Anyone who has had as many surgeries as Gronk has had would probably want to take it easy too. But while he does, Patriots fans must know that it is a fluid situation regarding Gronkowski. They shouldn’t be surprised if he suits up this Sunday, or if he doesn’t play for another couple of weeks.
