New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham has been on a tear this season, as the team has remained undefeated through the first four games. After having a “down” season last year, in which he only recorded 982 receiving yards on 85 receptions with nine touchdowns, Graham is already on pace to break last season’s receiving yards mark through the first nine games.
So far this season, Graham has caught 27 passes for 458 yards and six touchdowns, and has looked virtually unstoppable. The former basketball player had wrist surgery in the offseason, and this season he has proven that he is 100 percent healthy. Graham has been Drew Brees’ favorite target and has accounted for more than half of Brees’ 10 touchdowns this season.
Graham has been making history this season, and it was announced that he had won the Offensive Player of the Month Award, the first tight end to win the award. At this rate, Graham will probably win a few more awards this season and could break the record for most receiving yards by a tight end. Actually, Graham set the record a couple of seasons ago until New England Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski broke the record that Graham had just set that day.
The Saints have been unstoppable with Graham, and he is a big reason why they have been able to stay undefeated. Graham is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses and will continue to be Brees’ favorite target. If Graham continues his strong play, the Saints will definitely be marching back to the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl.
