Coming off a devastating loss to the Denver Broncos in week five at home, the Dallas Cowboys are trying to recover from what looked like the upset of the year. Well, any win over the Broncos this season will be considered an upset as they are clearly the top team in football. Tony Romo might get the most blame for the loss because of his late interception in the fourth quarter that led to the Broncos’ game-winning field goal. However, with over 500 passing yards and five touchdowns in the game, Romo was anything but the reason for the loss. He has 1,523 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season, proving that he is the correct starting quarterback for this team. Dez Bryant has shown up big-time this season with 29 catches for 423 yards and six scores while DeMarco Murray has boosted the run game with 399 yards and two scores.
On the other side of the field, the Washington Redskins have been arguably the league’s biggest disappointment this season, beginning just 1-3 through five weeks behind the struggles of Robert Griffin III. The young quarterback is suffering from a little bit of a sophomore slump this year, but he is starting to get it together, leading the Redskins to their first win a couple weeks ago against the Oakland Raiders before a much-needed bye week. RG3 has passed for 1,202 yards and six touchdowns this season, but his scrambling ability has been hampered a bit due to his bum knee. Alfred Morris will need to step up in order to take the weight off of RG3′s shoulders. Morris has 296 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Defensively, the Redskins are on pace to have one of the worst defenses in the history of the league. Allowing 440 yards per game is one reason why this team is just 1-3. The Cowboys are coming off a 51-points-allowed performance in week five against the Broncos and have struggled this season, giving up the second-most passing yards in the NFL. This game might turn into a shoot-out.
PREDICTION: Redskins 31, Cowboys 35
