Tampa Bay Buccaneers S Dashon Goldson Sure to Be Head-Hunting vs. Philadelphia Eagles

There is no doubt that Tampa Bay Buccaneers S Dashon Goldson has quickly made a name for himself around the NFL for being one of the most ferocious, terrifying hits-man in all the land.

While this is Goldson’s first year with the Bucs, where he has garnished plenty of attention due to his refusal to abide by the newer, softer rules regarding hits, the safety has been laying licks on receivers ever since he first entered the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers in 2007. But now that fines and suspensions are becoming rampant around the league in regards to vicious hits, Goldson’s name is at the top of the list when fans and analysts discuss head-hunters and all-around mashers.

So with the Philadelphia Eagles set to enter ‘The New Sombrero‘ (Raymond James Stadium) in Week 6, you can be sure that Goldson will have a personal bounty out on the Birds’ trash-talking, always-pompous WR DeSean Jackson.

There’s just something about D-Jack that makes defenders want to rip his head off, and Goldson rarely needs any further motivation than his own nasty agenda. Whether it be Jackson’s enthusiastic first-down illustrations, or his game-long jawing with defenders, something will spark Goldson’s fire, and he will be looking to take the loud-mouth out.

While most Eagles’ players will be looking to avoid coverage from perennial All-Pro Bucs CB Darrelle Revis, the man that I would much more concerned about is Goldson.

After already racking up $130,000 in fines and a 1-game suspension, that has since been retracted (for a head-hunt on New Orleans Saints RB Darren Sproles), this season for illegal hits, Goldson seems to still have no regard for player safety or his own wallet.

This may be a bold prediction; but look for Goldson to draw a hefty fine on Sunday for a bone-crushing hit on an Eagles wide-out frolicking across the middle, AKA, his domain.
