Robert Griffin III underwent reconstructive knee surgery in January to repair his ACL and LCL, which he injured during a playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Griffin did not participate in any preseason games, which might explain why his numbers don’t look the same as they did last year. In his first four games last year, Griffin had 234 rushing yards with four touchdowns, while this season, he’s only rushed for 72 yards and zero touchdowns.
As the Redskins prepare for their showdown with Dallas Sunday, Cowboys defensive back Brandon Carr had some choice words about RG3.
“He doesn’t look the same,” Carr said Thursday per NFL Network’s Around The League Live. “That’s not saying we’re going to fall asleep on him. He still has the same arm strength. He still has some type of elusive ability once he gets outside the pocket … But we know he’s not the same.”
Sunday’s game is going to be difficult to watch because both defenses this season are atrocious. The Redskins have the worst defense in the league, allowing opponents to rack up 440.5 yards, while the Cowboys have the 28th-worst defense, allowing teams to pile on 409.2 total yards.
Washington will be coming off a bye-week, while Dallas is coming off a 51-48 loss to the Denver Broncos. I believe it’s safe to say that this game won’t live to its hype like years past. So if you have some house chores to do, Sunday would be a good time to do them.
