The New Orleans Saints have been battling against many injuries so far this season, and despite that, they still find themselves 5-0 heading into Week 5. The Saints’ defensive line has been beat up all season, but the young linebackers and defensive ends have more than carried the load for the revitalized defense.
The Saints’ offense has been relatively healthy despite missing running back Mark Ingram for the past few games. However, the Saints have also been without wide receivers Joe Morgan and Lance Moore. Morgan suffered a torn ACL during training camp and will miss the entire season. Moore has played three games this season, and missed a few games due to a wrist injury, but it is believed that he will return at some point this season.
Moore had a breakout season last year as he caught 65 receptions for 1,041 yards and six touchdowns. Moore had established himself as the Saints’ No. 2 receiver behind Marques Colston, but with his wrist injury, he has not been able to stay on the field. If and when Moore comes back, it will be a luxury for the Saints’ receiving corps.
The Saints are stacked with plenty of capable receivers and when Moore does return, it might be difficult to find a spot for him in the rotation. However, given the opportunity, I am sure Moore will make an impact for the Saints’ offense. Everything seems to be clicking right now for the Saints and having Moore back would just give the team another great weapon.
