The NFC West has another head-to-head matchup in Week 6, with the San Francisco 49ers just edging by the Arizona Cardinals 24-21. This game is going to be physical and has a high probability to get nasty. The 49ers are still determined to return to the Super Bowl and leave with a victory. With the team being 4-2 so far, every game from this point is a must-win, because the entire NFC conference is more than competitive. The Cardinals will put up a fight until the end, but San Francisco can control the clock because they have a top tier ground attack featuring veteran running back Frank Gore.
The Cardinals’ offense is mostly one dimensional with a low ranked running game. However, rookie running back Andre Ellington may have a break out game as he did in Week 5, averaging 7.4 yards per carry. But with the 49ers’ run defense with All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman, Ellington will not repeat anywhere near that average in this game. The 49ers’ secondary will not completely shut down veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, but he will get about 60 yards receiving. The Cardinals’ offensive line is the team’s glaring weakness that the 49ers will exploit with smash mouth play.

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick will not have to run any read options because he will be handing the ball off to offensive cornerstone Gore. Gore has been leading his team to victory while the passing game has struggled, because some of the wide receivers are not able to get separation and Kaepernick is not a precision passer. Veterans Vernon Davis and Anquan Boldin will do enough to eat up enough yards to help win this game.
