Was Terrell Owens Serious With Twitter Jab At Dallas Cowboys’ Dez Bryant?

Gary A. Vasquez USA TODAY SPORTS

Terrell Owens was not impressed with the Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant‘s play, and he took to Twitter to make sure his opinion was heard.

Rumors abound about potential destinations for Owens, but nobody has taken the chance on the receiver. Owens’ headaches may have finally dwindled too far for anybody to care anymore. Bryant did not have his best game on Sunday night, but for Owens to take jabs at him while watching him was just uncalled for. Bryant finished the game with five receptions for 36 yards.

Knowing that NFL executives are hesitant on bringing him in, there was no reason for Owens to further hurt his stock as a receiver in the NFL. Owens was always insanely talented as a receiver, a physical freak of an athlete and as passionate as it can get about football. Nobody will ever forget about Owens doing sit-ups in the front of his driveway or his famous,”that’s my quarterback speech” after losing to the New York Giants in 2007.

Talent has never been a problem for Owens. Nobody will ever say that they would not want a receiver who has over 16,000 receiving yards. But in today’s, culture nobody is going to put up with the antics that a player like Owens brings to a game. While he still lives for the limelight,  Owens is no longer worth the headache and his jab at Bryant was tasteless and pointless.

Whether he meant it in playful banter or not, Owens needs something else to better occupy his time.
