Peyton Manning will make his emotional return back to where his career all started in Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday Night. While things may have ended a bit precariously for Manning and the Indianapolis Colts organization he was still a legend in that town for 13 seasons.
It is a new era both for the Denver Broncos and the Colts. The Colts have turned to new blood in young rising star Andrew Luck. What fortune the Colts have to have transitioned seamlessly from one franchise quarterback to another. While some organizations struggle to find one the Colts have managed to find two in the last decade or so.
The Broncos have now become an offensive juggernaut. With Manning at the helm and the variety of weapons they have including Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Eric Decker, and lethal slot weapon Wes Welker their offense looks simply unstoppable.
There are storylines abound in this one. What type of reception will Manning get in his old stomping grounds? Will the Luck vs. Manning duel live up to the hype? How will Manning perform against his old team on the road? All questions to be answered in what should be a dandy of a Sunday Night Football game.
Both teams came out of the Manning injury fiasco for the better. The Colts managed to find their franchise quarterback for now and the long-term future in Luck, and the Broncos with Manning are now an AFC powerhouse and will be for the foreseeable future as long as Manning stays healthy. These two teams clash Sunday Night in what should be an instant classic.
