15 Biggest Disapointments In Week 6 Of NFL Action
Another week of NFL action in the books, meaning another list for all of you wonderful readers. This week, I’ll be making a list of 15 of the biggest disappointments of Week 6. To help all of you get in the mood, I’ll provide you with the dictionary definition of the word disappointment.
“Disappointment is the feeling of dissatisfaction that follows the failure of expectations or hopes to manifest. Similar to regret, it differs in that a person feeling regret focuses primarily on the personal choices that contributed to a poor outcome, while a person feeling disappointment focuses on the outcome itself. It is a source of psychological stress. The study of disappointment — its causes, impact and the degree to which individual decisions are motivated by a desire to avoid it — is a focus in the field of decision analysis, as disappointment is one of two primary emotions involved in decision-making.”
A big thanks to Wikipedia for that wonderfully detailed definition. For the purposes of this list, I’m not going to just use teams that lost in Week 6. Winning teams that didn’t cover a spread are eligible to be on here, because a few of them not covering was disappointing from my perspective and probably from the perspective of all my fellow degenerate gambling buddies. Bad fantasy football performances are also eligible, because some people care more about that than the actual games. You all know who you are.
Without further ado, I present my 15 biggest disappointments from Week 6. As always, I welcome any constructive feedback. Enjoy the show.

Houston Texan Fans
Speaking of Texans quarterbacks, Matt Schuab was finally cheered in Houston, only because he got hurt. Kansas City Chiefs fans cheered last year when their struggling QB Matt Cassel got hurt. The sad thing is every fan base would do this in the same situation. Because just like life, most of us are decent people, but there's always going to be mean, hateful creeps that give the rest of us a bad name.
Peyton Manning: Fantasy
Peyton Manning was projected to have at least 35 fantasy points against the anemic Jacksonville Jaguars. Instead, Manning had his worst fantasy outing if the year with a mere 15 points (this was in one my leagues where QBs get six points for passing TDs). Of course, Manning has nothing to be disappointed about in real life with a 6-0 record.
Tony Romo: Fantasy
Just like Manning, Tony Romo had a not so hot fantasy output in Week 6, with just nine points. I bet Dallas Cowboys fans could care less when they're actually winning games, though.
Oakland Raiders Give Away Spread Cover
I thought I had made a great pick in having the Oakland Raiders cover 11.5 points against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead. The Raiders were looking good, down only 17-7 with less then two minutes remaining. Terrell Pryor just had to give up a meaningless pick-six didn't he? Of course, it didn't help that he was getting crushed all game (10 sacks).
New York Jets: Come Out Flat
The New York Jets were a victim of the classic letdown game after a huge Monday night win in Atlanta. Then again, the Jets might not be that good anyway. 8-8 is still a good possibility, though.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Are A Joke
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to be an embarrassing pile of cow dung. Once again, the Bucs couldn't hold a lead at home and remain a winless loser.
Minnesota Vikings: Can't Get Up For Adrian Peterson
You mean to tell me that this Minnesota Vikings team couldn't get up for this game after the tragedy that Adrian Peterson had to deal with this week? Peterson decided to play last week despite the fact that his two-year-old son was murdered. Bad team or not, the rest of the Vikings should have ran through a brick wall as far as this game was concerned.
Seattle Seahawks: Can't Cover Against Ryan Fitzpatrick At Home
I figured the Seattle Seahawks covering 13.5 points at home against the Ryan Fitzpatrick-led Tennessee Titans was a slam dunk, but I figured wrong. The Seahawks still won 20-13 and they probably would have covered if not for a goofy field goal block touchdown they gave up. Usually the Seahawks are ones coming up with the goofy plays like that at home (i.e. fail mary).
Fred Jackson: Fantasy
This one is a little more personal because I have Fred Jackson on two of my teams. After digging around a little, I found out that Jackson got a little banged up in this game. Great, now I feel like a total jerk now. Jackson did get five points, which is better than nothing. Does that make up for it? Come on people.
RG3: Fantasy And Reality
Robert Griffin has been having a rough time this season; clearly he hasn't been right since coming back from last year's leg injury. In fairness to Griffin, the whole Washington Redskins (or whatever they'll be called in the future) team stinks. At least they could get some good draft picks next year. Oops, never mind.
Andrew Luck: Sucks On Monday Night
Andrew Luck made his debut on Monday Night football and it was rather forgettable for him. Hopefully for his sake, everyone else will forget his lackluster performance, as well. Give credit to the San Diego Chargers, though, they dominated that game on both sides of the ball.
