New Orleans Saints: Jimmy Graham’s Injury is No Big Deal
New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham sustained a foot injury in the team’s Week 6 loss to the New England Patriots. Graham left the game but was able to reenter, but it did not make much of a difference.
The Saints came up short as Tom Brady threw a touchdown in the last five seconds. Furthermore, Graham was held without a catch for the first time since 2010 as the Patriots’ secondary did a good job of shutting him out.
Graham did have an MRI on his foot, but all indications point to his injury being minor. Luckily, the Saints will be on their bye in Week 7 so that should give plenty of time for Graham to rest up and get healthy. Graham has been on a tear this season and could break a few records.
So far this season, Graham has caught 37 catches for 593 yards and six touchdowns. Despite being shut out last week, Graham is still the Saints’ leader in catches, yards and touchdowns and has been Drew Brees’ greatest weapon. Graham and the Saints will be squaring off against the Buffalo Bills in Week 8 and I would look for Graham to have a big bounce back game.
Graham is a big part of the Saints’ success so far this season and he has firmly established himself as the best tight end in the NFL. The Saints look like they will most definitely get back to the playoffs this season and with Graham as their tight end, they could go very far.
