New York Jets Will be at Full Strength in Secondary

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Some good news for the New York Jets today on the injury front, as it appears that both Dee Milliner and Kyle Wilson will be active on Sunday against the New England Patriots. Milliner has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury, while Wilson was questionable with a concussion. Both players have been cleared by the medical staff and participated fully in practice, so the Jets will be at full strength in the secondary.

That is very good news, because the Jets need all hands on deck for this game. The Patriots will have Rob Gronkowski making his season debut, and his presence makes what has been a very average New England offense significantly more dangerous. The Jets are going to need to use double teams and different personnel packages to try to take away Tom Brady’s weapons, and the extra defensive backs will help.

Milliner has struggled in his rookie season, but he still has a ton of natural talent. He and Wilson will probably split time on Julian Edelman, who killed the Jets in their first meeting. Whichever corner is on Edelman must be extremely physical with him and not allow the short, quick completions that the Patriots thrive on.

All of the Jets’ corners are going to have to play single coverage, because the Jets are going to want to double team Gronkowski. Playing without safety help for Milliner and Wilson is a risk, but the Jets don’t really have a choice. They need these two young players, especially Milliner, to step up and have a big game.

The Jets were very successful against Brady in Week 2, but Gronkowski changes everything. The Jets need their secondary to be at the top of their game, and at they are fortunate to have everyone healthy.

Brandon Marshall Tells Rich Eisen He Hasn't Spoken To Jay Cutler

During a recent appearance on ' The Rich Eisen Show', former Chicago Bears and current New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was asked about his relationship with his old quarterback, Jay Cutler. Marshall, who has zero chill, replied that he had not spoken to Cutler in "two years." Naturally, Eisen was shocked and mentioned that they were teammates just a season ago. Marshall essentially confirmed that they were not talking off the field during his last year in Chicago, but ultimately wished Cutler well.
