Seattle Seahawks in Uncharted Territory at 6-1
Is this the best Seahawks team ever? At first glance, you can certainly make an argument that the level of talent on this squad has never been assembled before in the Emerald City. The challenge is that comparing teams from other eras has always been problematic.
The Seahawks have had some excellent teams in their history. There were the great teams of the 1980s, led by Dave Krieg, Steve Largent and (the original) Curt Warner. In addition, there were the dominant teams of the mid-2000s, which featured Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander. One of those teams made it to the Super Bowl and established a benchmark for all future squads.
Is this defense the most dominating that Seattle has ever put on the field? Will Marshawn Lynch eventually eclipse the accomplished of Alexander? Could Russell Wilson become the greatest quarterback in Seattle history? Might Pete Carroll be remembered as the most legendary coach ever to walk the sidelines in the Pacific Northwest?
Answers will arrive all in good time. For now, this team is in a really good place and when Percy Harvin returns they could be even stronger. The rest of the NFL had better get ready because this could end up being a legendary squad. There is much work to be done and nothing is guaranteed, but fans could be watching the execution of something very special.
