Denver Broncos' Von Miller Will Play a Key Role Tonight

Von Miller is playing in his first game this season. Denver Broncos’ fans are jumping for joy.

Miller makes his NFL 2013 season debut tonight against the Indianapolis Colts. Having their best pass rusher on the field will certainly help the Broncos as they continue their hot start this season. While the offense has been thriving, scoring at least 30-plus points every single game the defense has been mediocre at best. Hopefully for Broncos’ fans, Miller can help make a steady improvement to the defense.

I believe he will play a key part in the game tonight due to his ability to put pressure on the quarterback. While Andrew Luck is a pocket passer, he can be mobile if needed. Miller has to do what he can to keep Luck in the pocket and create pressure so that the second year quarterback from Stanford University has to make quick decisions. Of course Miller will not be able to do it alone. He will need help from the pass defense, which is ranked last in the league.

If Luck is being pushed around all night long, there will be no way the Colts will be able to keep up with the high-tempo offense of the Broncos. Their only hope then would be to force turnovers. But with how nearly flawless the offense is, unless you’re Montee Ball or Ronnie Hillman, all I would say on that subject is good luck with that.

Miller’s return should prove to be an interesting subject in tonight’s game. Let’s just hope that he is not too rusty from his six-game suspension and can perform well on the big stage tonight.
