The Buffalo Bills hit late October with a surprising 3-4 mark after dispatching the Miami Dolphins down in South Florida. Timely turnovers gave the Bills a 23-21 victory in the first leg of their road trip. However, the next stop is a much tougher challenge — the most difficult on schedule to date — in visiting the Superdome to play the 5-1 New Orleans Saints.

NFL Week 8 Matchup: Buffalo Bills at New Orleans Saints

Point Spread Prediction: Saints by 10.5 (Early Spread: Saints by 12.5)

Drew Brees has to be licking his chops (and wounds) during the bye week. He’s had to process how exactly New Orleans squandered multiple opportunities to ice the New England Patriots, while sitting and waiting for Week 8. Much of film study had to involve Andy Dalton and Brandon Weeden dicing this defense in recent weeks. If Jimmy Graham‘s foot injury is fully healed he would present a foil with Darren Sproles that Buffalo is not equipped to handle.

Buffalo trotted out Thad Lewis for a second time Sunday and got another decent performance all things considered. EJ Manuel‘s recovery and eventual return should boost this offense when that does happen, but in the meantime Lewis is at least not losing Buffalo games.

Key Matchup: CJ Spiller vs. Saints LBs

Curtis Lofton and David Hawthorne ranked 28th and 43rd, respectively, among ILBs in coverage this year via Pro Football Focus grading. Buffalo’s best chance at coming away with a colossal upset is Spiller — snapping back into 2012 form — dominating these backers with his explosiveness in the open field and receiving game.
