Rob Gronkowski Isn't the Answer to the New England Patriots' Problems

Rob Gronkowski played great. Tom Brady targeted him a ton and Gronkowski made some great catches. I don’t want to be negative, but unless he’s going to line up as a middle linebacker and stop the run the New England Patriots have a whole new set of problems. What is everyone’s suggestion now? The star tight end was supposed to solve all of the problems the Patriots ever had. Gronkowski also exceeded my expectations, and that’s not the easiest thing in the world to accomplish.

The Patriots did not lose the game against the New York Jets because of a rule. The Patriots lost because of a terrible overtime possession and a defense those Patriots fans are all too familiar with.

The Patriots’ defense is like getting plastic surgery. One day you get a nose job and it looks great. The next day you wake up, you look in the mirror, and there is the old nose staring you right in the face. This is essentially the Patriots’ defense. Patriots’ fans enjoyed it while lasted, but that’s all it was. It’s just a fake nose to enjoy out in public for a few weeks.

The Patriots’ defense won’t let you into the end zone, but feel free to run as much as you would like and eat away clock. The Patriots’ offense is only a shell of what it was in past years. It’s not like they need the ball as much as possible. The Jets have a legit defense. Their front seven is ridiculous, but there is no way the New York Jets should throw up over twenty points against you. If anything that’s how you should know you’re in trouble if the Jets of all teams put up over 20.
