The San Francisco 49ers continued their winning ways against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, which should be a huge concern for the rest of the NFC. San Francisco has won four straight games and do not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. What is even more terrifying is that quarterback Colin Kaepernick appears to have hit his stride.
“He continues to get better every game since he’s been playing,” head coach Jim Harbaugh said, according to ESPN.com. “He got a game ball last week and I thought he was very effective today both running and throwing. I can’t say enough good things about him.”
Kaepernick may not have thrown any touchdowns in the win, but he also did not toss any interceptions. He did not light up the stat sheet with his arm (13 completions for 199 yards), but he did dominate with his legs. Kaepernick was effective at playing his position, which is all that the 49ers ask from their signal caller.
The 25-year-old torched the Titans on 11 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. Kaepernick has got away from running the ball a little bit in recent weeks. However, he could not have picked a better time to add to his rushing numbers this season.
“They were giving us the opportunity with the looks they were giving us,” Kaepernick said, according to 49ers.com.
It will be interesting to see how much he will be able to build on his performance. I have to imagine his statistics are going to take a jump up next week considering the 49ers will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
