Seattle Seahawks: Best team in NFL?

Are the Seattle Seahawks the best team in the NFL right now? There won’t be a definitive answer to that question until someone hoists the Lombardi Trophy. However, that won’t stop fans and media members from trying to answer that question along the way.

Certainly, the ‘Hawks are in the conversation. At 6-1, Seattle has the best record in the NFC. The New Orleans Saints are 5-1 as they had a bye in Week 7. The Saints are a rejuvenated team, but they are not regarded as having as much talent on defense.

When it comes to other NFC foes, the Seahawks are still going to be peeking over their shoulder all season to see if the San Francisco 49ers are still there. Chances are that the December 8 showdown will have an impact on standings, playoff seedings and bragging rights.

The AFC is interesting when it comes to top teams. You have to start with the Denver Broncos, as Peyton Manning and company may be the team to beat all year. The Kansas City Chiefs are undefeated, and it will be fascinating to see what happens when the Broncos and Chiefs meet twice in three weeks.

Then there is the Indianapolis Colts, who are 5-2 but have now taken down the Seahawks and the mighty Broncos. Andrew Luck and the upstart Colts could end up with a rematch against the Broncos in the AFC championship game.

Are the Seahawks the best in the NFL with their dominant defense, their bruising running game led by Marshawn Lynch and their poised young quarterback Russell Wilson? You can certainly make the argument that Seattle can line up against anyone.

The season is not even half over, but right now the Seahawks are in a great position to make a run at the Super Bowl. Seattle may be the best in the NFL right now.
