Frank Gore Says 49ers Can't Take Jaguars Lightly; He's Lying

The San Francisco 49ers have had somewhat of a roller coaster type of season thus far. After winning their first game of the season, they dropped two straight and the play of Colin Kaepernick was highly criticized as being no where near good enough to win games.

Now at 5-2, they are in position to get themselves back to the postseason and make a Super Bowl run. This week, they prepare for a battle with the NFL’s worst franchise, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

All gut instincts and stat sheets would tell you that this will be a blowout.

And you’d be right in thinking so. But, one 49er doesn’t seem to think it’ll go that way.

“As a team, we’ve got to know it’s still a business trip, and we’re there for a game,” running back Frank Gore said Sunday after their win, according to the Mercury News. “An NFL game can go any way. We have to be ready. We can’t look at their record.”

“We have to be ready and go out there and be focused. Get the win and have the bye week,” Gore said.

The Jaguars are not only without a win at 0-7, but they are dead last in rushing yards per game and rushing yards allowed per game. This does not bode well for them going up against an attack featuring both Gore and Kaepernick. The way Gore speaks of this game is really the only way any professional player is expected to speak — professionally.

In reality, Gore is probably laughing inside. These Jaguars are an absolute joke and everyone knows it.

Good luck, Jacksonville.
