Broncos vs. Redskins: Peyton Manning Will Look To Bounce Back
Peyton Manning will look to bounce back from his defeat vs. the Indianapolis Colts by hosting and successfully defeating Robert Griffin III and his Washington Redskins this Sunday afternoon. This will not be an easy game by any means, but the Broncos will have the mentality, hunger and skill needed to win in front of their home fans.
Manning faced one of the best second-year QBs last week in Andrew Luck, who replaced him in the starting role after his departure from Indianapolis. The kid proved to be a handful as he did manage to hand the Broncos their first loss of the season, but the point is that he and Griffin are both second-year guys who want to prove that last season was no fluke.
Now, Manning has to host the latter one right after losing to the no. 1 overall pick from last year’s draft.
Griffin returned fully healthy from a torn knee during Washington’s home loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the postseason last year, so to expect him to be mentally ready for this season was asking a bit too much. In fact, the team sits third in their division with a record of 2-4. Winning away vs. Broncos doesn’t seem feasible but if they do pull it off, they will make a huge statement to every team around the league, especially the ones in their division.
Prediction: Denver Broncos 40, Washington Redskins 27
The visitors will play decently at both ends, but the home team will use their home-field advantage to pull off the sizable victory.
