People that like to watch high-level quarterback play should be in for a treat Sunday. We get to witness Peyton Manning, the consummate pro and all-time legend at the quarterback position. We also get to see Robert Griffin III, the man trying to bounce back from injury and get back to his explosive, dangerous self.
It should be a heck of a matchup. While Griffin has certainly struggled at times during the season, this past Sunday could be the start of the QB finally getting his legs under him. Griffin III threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 84 yards as the Washington Redskins hung up 500 total yards and 45 points on the scoreboard.
Manning, on the other hand, is fresh off of an emotional loss to his hometown team. He will really want to bounce back this week to get that memory out of his head. It was another ho-hum 350-yard, three touchdown game for Manning. The Denver Broncos fell to 6-1 thanks to a porous defense that frankly hasn’t played at a high level for much of the season despite their record, especially against the pass. They are dead last at 32nd in the league against the pass.
It might be open season for Griffin III on Sunday. Manning plays a secondary that isn’t exactly a great unit either. This has the feel of a shootout. With Manning on the Broncos’ sideline in Denver, I would never bet against the great no. 18 in these situations.
Final prediction: 42-31 Broncos.
