In a much-anticipated return to the football field, Percy Harvin, fantasy owners and Seattle Seahawks fans will have to wait just a little bit longer. Officially reported Saturday, Harvin is out for week eight against the St. Louis Rams on Monday Night Football.
It looks like Percy Harvin is a no go for Monday night. Keep him on your bench.

Head coach Pete Carroll made it official before the news broke out elsewhere.
“He won’t be playing in this game,” Carroll said after practice according to ESPN. “He won’t be able to do it this quick. We’re managing his rehabilitation and trying to do it right. We worked him hard [earlier this week], then we rested him. We’ll continue to do that until his conditioning is caught up and he’s ready to go.”
Well, that’s not necessarily good news. Harvin will continue to get rest until the team and coaches feel like he is good to go. But, Carroll also hinted that week nine is not a long shot at all.
“Next week is a little shorter, and that doesn’t help us,” Carroll said. “But we’re just dealing with it day to day and we’re really excited about getting this close to his return.”
Although Harvin may not be game-ready just yet, Carroll and Harvin’s teammates are excited about what they see on the field in practice every day.
“He did fine,” Carroll said. “He looked great when we were working him, and then we needed to rest him to make sure he can handle the workload. He’s a hard-charger and he’s not going to sit back. When he goes, he does, so we have to be sure and manage that. But we’re totally pleased with how he’s worked to get back. When we can do it, we will.”
Week nine the Seahawks face the hopeless Tampa Bay Buccaneers, therefore he won’t be needed all that desperately. But, then again, the Seahawks haven’t looked like a desperate team thus far anyways. Harvin, when he does return, will be an incredibly exciting luxury — that, my friends, will be fun to watch.
