5 Players Minnesota Vikings Should Trade Away By The NFL Trade Deadline
5 Players The Minnesota Vikings Should Trade Away
The Minnesota Vikings are having a tough season. Just one year after being a surprise team to make the playoffs, they now find themselves at the bottom of the standings. They have no long-term options at quarterback, and their best player plays one of the most expendable positions on the field. If they want to find themselves back in contention, they need to make some serious roster moves.
What better time to start than the NFL trade deadline. Typically we don’t see too many trades in the NFL, but that’s because most teams that are out of contention this early in the year don’t have any valuable assets. Not so for the Vikings, despite their dismal record they have more than a few players that other teams would want on their roster, especially those that might think they are just a player or two away from being a Super Bowl contender.
The Vikings need to accept that they’re in need of a total rebuild. They have one of the best players in the league in Adrian Peterson, but you just don’t build around running backs anymore. They need to blow up the roster and start to build for the future. Those kinds of total rebuilds are rare in the NFL, but the Vikings are in need of help at too many positions. Unlike some teams that have gone from worst to first in just a year or two, they need more than a new quarterback or coach.
These are the five players they should trade to give them the draft picks and young players they need to start that rebuilding process.
5. Desmond Bishop
Desmond Bishop is a good linebacker. The good news, other teams might think so too. The Vikings should get value for him while they can.
4. Greg Jennings
Greg Jennings is an older player who has seen his best years in the NFL already. The Vikings need to move on; he'll be out of the league by the time they're contending again.
3. Christian Ponder
The Vikings are clearly looking to move on from the Christian Ponder experiment. There are more than a few teams that could be in the market for a relatively cheap quarterback right now.
2. Jared Allen
Jared Allen may not be the disruptive force he was a few years ago, but contending teams need all the depth they can get in the pass-rushing department.
1. Adrian Peterson
The Vikings should trade Peterson, but they won't. Teams don't build around running backs anymore, well good teams that is, so they wouldn't get alot for him. Trading him away for a draft pick would be the smart thing to do, but those kinds of moves never get done in the NFL.
Which Atlanta Falcons player ended up on the “NFL’s All-Bad-Contracts Team”?
Every year, Grantland's Bill Barnwell crafts his All-Bad-Contracts Team, and all any fan is hoping for is that they don't see one of their team's players pop up. Well, Falcons fans, here's the bad news: You didn't make it through unscathed. The good news, though, is that only one Falcon made it onto the list ... Read More

This stat about Lavonte David shows just how amazing he truly is
Next to J.J. Watt, you could make a solid case that Lavonte David is the best defender in the NFL. You won't hear that from the press or ESPN or the fans or the end-of-the-year-award voters, but stats don't lie. And this stat says it all. Read More
