Buffalo Bills’ Doug Legursky Will Have the Fight of His Professional Life with Cameron Jordan Today
Starting left guard of the Buffalo Bills, Doug Legursky, will have the challenge of his career today as he will have to engage emerging star defensive end Cameron Jordan. Jordan was the 20th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, and was an absolute terror in college and finally found his niche and got his fire lit under new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.
Jordan is a second generation pro player, with his father Steve playing his entire career as a tight end for the Minnesota Vikings where he was a six time pro bowl member and a three time all-pro. With that lineage, it will certainly help him develop into a star for years to come in the NFL. Legursky, so far, has played against big clogging defensive tackles; however, this week, it will be certainly different as Jordan will be the most athletic competition he’s had as part of the Bills and likely up there even when he was part of the Pittsburgh Steelers over the previous four seasons including the last time they made the Super Bowl, which was his first pro football start.
All and all, it should be an excellent one-on-one matchup that few people on the various television shows if any will even talk about as they are likely far more enamored with the Stephon Gilmore versus Marques Colston matchup. While that battle will intrigue mostly everyone, that isn’t where games are won and lost as they are within the trenches with the big men of each team.
