New Orleans Saints Continue Hot Streak Behind Kenny Stills’ Big Day
The New Orleans Saints improved to 6-1 after defeating the Buffalo Bills 35-17 in their Week 8 matchup. The Saints’ offense was on full display and simply could not be stopped as Drew Brees threw for five touchdowns. In addition, the Saints’ defense did a good job pressuring the quarterback and limiting the Bills’ offense to 17 points.
The biggest story for the Saints was the great play by rookie wide receiver Kenny Stills. Stills had a monster game as he caught three receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Stills was the Saints’ best deep threat in this game, and even hauled in a 69-yard touchdown reception. The Saints did a great job of scouting Stills, and he is proving to be a great player for the team. After this performance, Stills may have solidified himself as the Saints’ no. 3 receiver.
In addition to Stills’ big game, Brees was very efficient as he completed 26 passes to 10 different receivers. Furthermore, Brees completed 76 percent of his passes and did not throw an interception. Next up for the Saints is a road game against the New York Jets. The Jets dropped to 4-4 in Week 8 after being routed by the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Saints should be able to win next week against the Jets if they go to the air. The Saints’ running game has not shown up much this season and the Jets are great at stopping the run. Brees should just play the same game he played on Sunday and the Saints could be looking at a 7-1 record.
