5 Keys To Victory For Philadelphia Eagles vs. Oakland Raiders

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles now sit at 3-5. Fresh off two home losses against divisional rivals and 10 overall home losses at home, the team is in a bit of disarray. The Eagles need a bounce-back road effort in the very worst way.

Believe it or not, despite their record and lackluster play of late, the Eagles are still only a game out of first place. The reason for that? They play in a pathetic division. Not a single team has separated itself from the pack and it looks like the weakest division in either conference.

This could play to the Eagles' advantage. If they get their act together, especially on offense, they still have a chance to salvage their season with two crucial divisional games beckoning. It has to start Sunday though. This is as much of a must-win game as it gets.

The Oakland Raiders, usually the league's laughingstock, are much improved on both sides of the ball. Defensive coordinator Jason Tarver has the unit playing at a high level, and the re-vamped secondary is much improved. On offense? They have one of the most dynamic athletes in the game in Terrelle Pryor. He can do it all. He may be the fastest quarterback the game has ever seen. Just take a look at his league-record 93-yard touchdown run. It looks like the 11 men on defense are stuck in mud. He is a very dangerous weapon.

The Eagles will have no easy game on Sunday on the road against the new and improved Raiders. Let's take a look at five keys to victory for the Philadelphia Eagles.

5. Nick Foles Needs To Bounce Back In A Big Way For The Eagles

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Foles put forth a woeful performance a few weeks ago against the Dallas Cowboys. For the Eagles' offense to get off the ground and for the team to come away with a road victory, Foles will need to be at the top of his game.

4. Shut Down Darren McFadden And The Raiders' Running Game

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

The Raiders run a form of the wildcat called the "Wild Hog". McFadden is the main part of that package. The Eagles will need to be aware of the versatile threat out of the backfield as a receiver, and possibly even lined up in the shotgun.

3. Contain Terrelle Pryor

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Terrelle Pryor is becoming as dangerous of a quarterback as there is in the league. He is big, strong-armed and has plenty of speed to burn. The best way for the Eagles to attack Pryor is to keep contain in their rushing lanes and make Pryor try to beat them through the air. Pressure on the quarterback will also be key.

2. Limit Denarius Moore And The Raiders' Aerial Attack

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Denarius Moore is the vertical threat in the Raiders' offense. The Eagles have done a good job at limiting big plays so far this year. That will have to continue in Sunday. Moore is very capable of getting behind a defense. The Eagles can't let that happen if they want to win.

1. The Eagles Need To Protect The QB And Stop The Raiders' Front Seven

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles' offensive line has done a poor job in protection in the past few weeks. They can't let this become a trend. The Raiders feature a stout front-seven. The Eagles' front-five will need to be at their best to contain them.
