A sibling rivalry will be turned up a notch Sunday when New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan battle his twin brother, New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. These two forged solid reputations like their father Buddy Ryan by building impressive defensive units.

New Orleans was brutal last year on this side of the ball. They received an influx of talent like rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro. A solid scheme now has them playing much better. Quarterback Drew Brees no longer is required to make every game a shootout. He still puts up big numbers, but there just is not the stress that comes with carrying a team every week.

Now that Rex’s team lost badly last game, he needs a nice turnaround performance. Offense may be hard to find for Gang Green when they face a stingy Saints group. There will undoubtedly be pressure on Jets quarterback Geno Smith. Using such a strategy works to get him in trouble with turnovers.

When their teams played a few years ago, Rex donned a long-haired wig pretending to be his brother during a press conference. When each team is on defense, the opposing brother could have an advantage because of the similar concepts that they use. Bragging rights between these two proud men are on the line on Sunday, and it will make for intriguing television.
