Bye Week Comes At Perfect Time For New England Patriots
It’s that time again for New England Patriots‘ fans — the dreaded bye week. This is the one week during the NFL calendar that the Patriots will not play while the rest of the league will. As agonizing as this week will be for the fans, it is just what the doctor ordered for the team on the field.
The Patriots go into Week 10 with a plethora of injuries. Players currently banged up for the Patriots include: Aqib Talib, Steve Gregory, Rob Gronkowski, Austin Collie, Rob Ninkovich, Shane Vereen, Kyle Arrington, Danny Amendola, and of course, Tom Brady.
This long list of injured players will be afforded the luxury of a week of rest. That week will be especially valuable for players like Talib and Vereen who, as of this moment, are slated to return at the conclusion of the bye. They will have another week of rest to get as close to 100 percent as possible when they return.
It will also be important for the other players because they will have a week to recuperate from nagging injuries that have plagued them all season. For newly injured players Gregory, Collie, and Ninkovich, the team can only hope that they will have enough time to recover during the bye week, thereby returning in Week 11 as well.
In any case, the Patriots will want to have as many players healthy as possible following their bye mainly because in Week 11, they will face a Carolina Panthers team that is clicking on all cylinders right now.
