With a win tonight at home against the rival Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers can put a stranglehold on the NFC North division and start to think about becoming division champions. A win will also catapult the Packers in the conference and position them to make a push for a top seed and possible home-field advantage.

We are past the half way point of the season, and this is the time of year that you must take advantage of every opportunity you are given. With a rivalry game at home during prime time, the Packers can really help themselves out.

So far this season, the Packers are 2-0 in their division and 5-2 overall. They have defeated the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, and can guarantee that they will finish no worse than .500 in the division with a win against the Bears.

The Packers have played well in the division the past few seasons, and their success against the Bears at Lambeau Field has them primed for another victory. Last season, the Packers defeated the Bears 23-10 and dominated them in every aspect of the game. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has played outstanding football against the Bears and can continue that success against a banged up Bears defense. He is 8-2 in his career against the Bears and has thrown 19 touchdowns in 10 regular season matchups.

A recent history of success at home for the Packers against the Bears shows that they should control this ballgame. However, when the Packers and Bears meet, anything is possible. It will be a physical matchup and the intensity level will be through the roof.

The Packers must come out with a fire in their guts and look to get ahead early and try to keep the Bears down. If they can, the Packers’ stars will be aligned for a playoff spot and the team will have its fifth straight win.
