Baltimore Ravens Rumors: Team To Sign Troubled Guard Richie Incognito?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of days, then you’ve probably heard of the drama that’s been going on with the Miami Dolphins. Second year OT Jonathan Martin stormed out of the team complex and has yet to return. Martin could no longer take the bullying and harassment he was receiving from teammates, most notably All-Pro Guard Richie Incognito. New evidence of these claims came out yesterday in the form of texts and voicemail messages from Incognito to Martin. I can’t repeat what Incognito said, but let’s just say it could be compared to a tirade from a Quentin Tarantino flick.
Incognito has a long rap sheet of troubling behavior, going all the way back to his collegiate days at Nebraska. Incognito had stints with the St. Louis Rams and Buffalo Bills before coming to the Dolphins. He had a reputation of being a violent hot head in both places and was dropped by the Bills after only three games. Several players around the league have claimed that Incognito has been using dirty tactics for years like pinching, punching, and eye gouging. The Dolphins have suspended him indefinitely and released a statement saying that Incognito will never play for them again.
Is it possible that any other team in the league would take a chance on the NFL‘s version of Biff Tannen? Maybe the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are having major issues on the offensive line right now and could definitely use some help at the guard position seeing as starting LG Kelechi Osemele is out for the remainder of the 2013 season. The Ravens have taken chances on troubled players before like Jimmy Smith and Rolando McClain. Personally I think Incognito will never play in the league again. Nobody will want to take a chance on a now 30 year old player with the long rap sheet he has and nobody will want to play with him after what he did to Martin.
