5 NFL Teams Facing Must-Win Games in Week 10

Now that we've officially passed the halfway point of the NFL season, it's really do or die time for many teams across the country. Week 10 brings a lot of crucial matchups with it, but for some, they're must-win games.

We can only hope that week 10 doesn't have as many health scares as week nine. Two head coaches went down with serious health issues last week, but all indications are that both will make full recoveries.

We also had many breakout performances in week nine. Nick Foles no doubt stole the show, as he tossed a record-tying seven touchdown passes against the Raiders. Foles will have a much tougher task ahead of him in week 10 going into Green Bay, but Eagles' fans are hoping he can continue his rise into NFL QB relevancy.

Unfortunately for many teams, week nine marked the end of their seasons. There are some holes just too big to dig out of in the NFL, and many teams reached that point. If you don't have two or more wins by week 10, you're done in almost all cases. It's about as simple as that.

Many of the teams on this list have three wins, but there's one with two wins that I just can't rule out quite yet. It's an exception, but I feel there's too much talent on the roster to stick a fork in them.

The term must-win gets thrown around an awful lot, but I truly feel all of these teams are in must-win situations. A loss in week 10 will mean that they have essentially zero percent chance of making the playoffs.

Here are five teams that must win or they'll be going home early in 2013:

Washington Redskins

Here they are again in 2013. Last year the Redskins were 3-6 and made the playoffs. Coming into week 10 they sit at 3-5 and still very much alive in the postseason race. However, if they can't beat a bad Minnesota team on the road, stick a fork in them.

Baltimore Ravens

The defending Super Bowl champs are on the ropes in a big way. The Baltimore offense has failed to get going all season long and now the team's back is up against the wall. The Ravens have a tough game in week 10 against the first place Bengals, but a win would keep them alive for a playoff spot.

San Diego Chargers

The Chargers blew it on the road in week nine. They could have put the Redskins away and moved to 5-3, but now they're 4-4 and going up against the high-flying Broncos. If they can pull the upset, I like their playoff chances moving forward.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have come along way this year, but their season is heading downhill fast. They'll have to travel all the way across the country to take on the Giants and you know Tom Coughlin's squad will be ready to go after a bye. If Oakland can squeak out a win, they'll stay alive for another week in 2013.

Houston Texans

Normally, I'd say a team with only two wins by week 10 is done. But the Texans aren't quite there yet. Despite their heartbreaking loss to Indy on SNF, the Texans have plenty to build on. Case Keenum looked great in his second career start and Andre Johnson finally came to life. If you look at the schedule, the Texans have many winnable games over the next few weeks. But if they don't win on the road in Arizona in week 10, they're done.
