Tom Brady has struggled with consistency all season long. Brady has been put in a tough situation early in the season where he had to start from scratch with new receivers after the offseason the New England Patriots had. Rob Gronkowski was hurt and Danny Amendola struggled to stay on the field. With that said, there were plenty of opportunities to make plays and Brady just flat-out missed them.
Coming off Brady and the Patriots’ best offensive performance of the season and having a bye week for the team to get healthy and work more with receivers, the question is, will Brady finally turn the corner and start showing the Brady of old in the second half of the season?
I believe we will start to see a better Brady in every week moving forward. His success greatly is based on the health of Gronk and Amendola, but if those two can stay healthy and his trust in Aaron Dobson continues to grow, I believe we could see more of the old Brady moving forward, and that would be great for a Patriots’ offense that has lacked consistency all season long.
The bye week will be a big help to this team and came a the right time. The Patriots will face some good teams coming out of the bye and will need Brady to show his greatness once again. If Brady can get back on track, then this team may have a legit shot at making a deep playoff run.
If Brady continues to struggle with consistency, this team could very likely win 11 or 12 games, but they will struggle to do anything in the playoffs. There are plenty of storylines around this 7-2 Patriot team with the defense being a big one, but Brady has struggled at times this season. The hope is that now with some familiarity with the players around him, he will flourish in this second half.
