Baltimore Ravens‘ Joe Flacco hasn’t defended his Super Bowl MVP the way he would have liked in the start of the season as the Ravens are 3-5 with questions along their offensive line, and the defense not being as clutch as they are supposed to be.
When Flacco signed his six-year deal worth $120 million, there were and still are expectations that Flacco will take the next step, and lead the Ravens as the elite quarterback that the organization, and Ravens’ fans expect him to be.
But when looking at the season overall, Flacco knows it is hard work to get this flawed team up every week.
“It’s tough in the NFL to go out there and try to be Superman. It’s just impossible to do that,” Flacco told Jamison Hensley of ESPN.
Hold up Flacco. Not only are you getting paid like Superman, one could argue that you are getting paid like Batman at the same time as well. I’m a huge supporter of Flacco, but nobody needs to hear this.
Get the job done. I know it isn’t Flacco’s fault that his offensive line is historically bad. But a lot of people are counting on Flacco to turn the Ravens’ season around.
If Flacco can somehow lead the Ravens to the playoffs this year, all of the people who talked about how Flacco has benefited from a great defense, and a running game all of these years will have to finally shut their mouths.
Flacco has it in him to lead the Ravens. But has to be Superman to get it done.
