The Dallas Cowboys already have enough to worry about on the field each Sunday. The last thing they need at this point in 2013 is more off-the-field distractions or any other injuries to potentially derail their season. That’s why the latest rumors will make Cowboys’ fans cringe. According to reports, Dez Bryant has a disc issue in his back.
The WR has been held back in practice this week, which the Cowboys labeled as ‘precautionary’. However, Fox Sports Southwest is reporting that the team fears Bryant has a herniated or bulging disc in his back.
But regardless of all the speculation, Bryant is set to play this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. However, it’s possible that he’s still just trying to ‘tough out’ the injury at this point. Back issues such as herniated and bulging discs don’t always lead to surgery, but they rarely work themselves out with rest and rehab. But it’s possible that Bryant could play through the injury if it hasn’t reached the ‘serious’ point.
The good news for Dallas fans is that all of this is merely speculation at the moment. No. 88 will be out there on Sunday running routes. He’s shown everybody over the past few weeks that he’s truly all in for this team. Whether you agree with his actions on the sidelines or not, you have to respect the fact that he wants to win and be the best at what he does.
