Tom Brady Amusingly Jokes His Mother Saw Crucial Penalty Against Panthers

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

This coming weekend, NFL fans are in for a real treat for a second straight week. After getting the pleasure of seeing both the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos in primetime matchups of their own in week 11, we get to see these two teams square off against one another in week 12.

But, before we completely forget about week 11, Tom Brady has one more thing to say.

“No final thoughts… My mom thought it was a penalty — does that count?” Brady said Wednesday when asked yet again about the infamous “hug” given by Carolina Panthers’ linebacker Luke Kuechly to Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on the very last play of the game Monday night.

“No more thoughts. We’re moving on to Denver,” he firmly responded when poked and prodded just a little bit more by media during his press conference.

Following the game Monday night, Brady had cooled off a bit in comparison to his antics immediately after the flag was picked up by the officials. He gave credit to the Panthers and said that his Patriots did not make enough plays to win the game; that the last play didn’t completely and solely cost them the win.

In a similar manner, it was nice to see Brady able to joke about what you’d think to be such a sensitive topic still. But, as a professional quarterback — and one of the best there is — you have to endure these things with a short memory, especially when you are to immediately face Peyton Manning and the Broncos in less than a week’s time.
