Drew Brees has everything in his favor to put another masterful performance on Thursday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons.
The New Orleans Saints have arguably one of the best offenses in the league, and a big reason for that is the fact that Brees has been picking defenses apart all season long. Even though he had a tough outing against the San Francisco 49ers, he still managed to pass for over 300 yards and a touchdown. So far through 10 games this year Brees has eclipsed the 300-yard-mark in eight of them and has at least one score in every single game.
He should be able to find even more spaces against the Atlanta Falcons tonight as they are seriously depleted with injuries on both sides of the ball. Darren Sproles is questionable for tonight’s game, but Brees will still have the likes of Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston and Kenny Stills available to create some havoc in Atlanta’s secondary.
The Falcons haven’t been very good against the pass this season, and last week they allowed 231 yards and two touchdowns to Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Mike Glennon, who also completed 20-of-23 passes. So far through the year, the Falcons’ secondary ranks 12th in yards allowed through the air, third in TDs allowed and 27th in interceptions.
It’s all set for Drew Brees to have a monster game tonight against a depleted Falcons team. This is a must win for the Saints if they want to remain near the top of the league in their quest to get to another Super Bowl.
