Week 12 Blowouts

Five Teams That are Going to Blowout Their Opponents this Weekend
Crystal LoGiudice-USA TODAY Sports

Picking and choosing who is going to beat who every week in the NFL is more of a science than just going off of a pure hunch, although there are times where teams who have no business winning, do just that. But I think that's the purpose of the ball having two pointed ends -- it can bounce in either direction.

Week 12 of the regular season brings many interesting matchups, and some that are more favorable than others. Some teams are just flat out better than others and have their game plans structured to help them win nearly every week.

There are quite a few teams that are in the hunt for playoff spots, and a win this week will put many of them one step closer to the post season. Of course, there will be teams who are thoroughly blown out this weekend by far superior teams, and many of those are easy to spot.

Here is a list of the five games this weekend that I'm sure will be lopsided and have a clear cut victor before the ball is even kicked off.

5. Baltimore Ravens Will Blow Out New York Jets

The New York Jets don't stand a chance this week against the Baltimore Ravens, who are starting to show signs of life, despite their record.

Rookie quarterback Geno Smith and company don't stand a chance against this tough Ravens defense that will force him to make mistakes and lead the Jets to another big loss.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers Will Deplete the Cleveland Browns

Speaking of quarterback carousel, the the Cleveland Browns are the NFL's prime example of mediocrity at that position, not to mention they don't have a running game.

This weekend's match up against their AFC North divisional rival Pittsburgh Steelers will prove to be a tough one, especially because the Steelers are pulling it together and are looking to make a late season push to the playoffs.

Pittsburgh historically kicks the snot out of Cleveland. Don't expect this weekend to be any different.

3. Overhyped San Francisco 49ers Will Beat the Dismal Washington Redskins

Although the San Francisco 49ers are proving to football fans everywhere that they're not all they've been hyped up to be, expect them to beat the Washington Redskins, who are a mere skeleton of what they were last year.

With all of the turmoil going on in the Redskins' locker room and quarterback Robert Griffin III's sophomore slump, don't expect them to get much of anything done against this 49er team that plays solid defense and can run the ball effectively. They'll run all over horrible Washington defense.

2. The Carolina Panthers Will Continue Their Steamroll Against the Miami Dolphins

Not many teams have more quality wins than the Carolina Panthers, and they're playing with a chip on their shoulder that's one to be reckoned with.

The Miami Dolphins will simply be a bump in the road in Carolina's hunt for a playoff spot.

1. New Orleans Saints Will Destroy the Atlanta Falcons

You can't argue the fact that the Atlanta Falcons are horrible and the New Orleans Saints are playing at the top of the world right now.

Atlanta's dismal season starts with incumbent quarterback Matt Ryan, who is playing horrible football, and this reborn Saints defense will keep him off the field, allowing quarterback Drew Brees and company to shred them.

Tonight, the Saints will blow the Falcons out of the water and show their NFC South rival who owns their division.
