Green Bay Packers Backup QB Scott Tolzien Will Snap Losing Streak

In a game that the Green Bay Packers really can’t afford to lose, they will rely on Scott Tolzien once again to get the team a victory against their divisional rival Minnesota Vikings.

Tolzien got the start last week against the New York Giants and although he hit some big plays, he struggled with turnovers and threw three interceptions that cost the team. However, just like Aaron Rodgers, I believe Tolzien will have a rebound performance and is why he is my pick to click for Sunday afternoon’s game at Lambeau Field.

The Vikings come into the game at 2-8 and are watching a lot of college football as they prepare for the draft in April. But, one thing that the Vikings will be looking to do is knocking the Packers out of playoff contention with a huge road victory. This will add to the pressure on Tolzien as he looks to keep the Packers’ boat afloat and stay in contention until Rodgers returns.

Tolzien will get an opportunity to start in front of the home fans in Green Bay and will go up against a Vikings’ defense that comes into the game ranked 29th in the league against the pass and are allowing an average of 280 yards per game. The defense has also only forced eight interceptions on the season. Both of these statistics should play in Tolzien’s favor.

Last week against the Giants, Tolzien threw for 339 yards but did have the costly interceptions. I expect him to have a great week of practice and come out with a whole new passion and energy against the Vikings.

The team has given Tolzien their confidence and they too believe he will bounce back. Here is how I think Tolzien’s stat line will look when the clock hits zero on Sunday: 26/35, 325 yards, two TD’s
