The combination of Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham is as good as it gets in the NFL. This quarterback-tight end duo is the best in the league and both players have been vital to the success of the New Orleans Saints. Brees is without a doubt one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and Graham is the best tight end in the game right now. With Brees and Graham it is no wonder the Saints find themselves at 9-2 and a return trip to the postseason after missing out last season.
Brees is the current leader in the NFL with 3,647 passing yards and is also second behind Peyton Manning with 28 touchdowns. While Brees might not win the MVP this season, he definitely deserves some strong consideration. However, one could make the case that Graham deserves some MVP consideration as he is on pace to have the best season of his career.
Graham has already caught 65 passes for 942 yards and has tied a career-high with 11 touchdowns this season. Graham is well on his way to breaking the tight end receiving record of 1,327 yards in a season, set by Rob Gronkowski back in 2011. Furthermore, Graham has also tied the record for most 100-yard receiving games with six so far this season, and if he continues his great play he will likely break that record.
It is evident that Brees and Graham have great chemistry as Graham is Brees’s go-to target. Graham leads the Saints with 65 receptions and 99 receptions and it would be hard to imagine the Saints without the Brees-Graham tandem. The Saints need to figure out a way to re-sign Graham because they cannot afford to break up this special QB-TE combination.
