Week 13: Buffalo Bills vs. Atlanta Falcons
The well-rested Buffalo Bills are back in action on Sunday as they play host to the visiting Atlanta Falcons. This is the 11th meeting between these two teams with the Falcons holding a 6-4 lead in the series. The Bills haven’t played the Falcons since 2009 and haven’t defeated them since 1995.
The Bills are coming off a bye week, which is good and bad. It is good because the team will be rested and lingering injuries could be tended to a little bit more etc. It is bad because the bye week came after a convincing win against a rival team so any chance of momentum carrying over is lost.
Atlanta will be seeing plenty of Fred Jackson and company as the Bills will pound the ball most of the afternoon trying to take advantage of one of the NFL’s worst run defenses. You can’t forget about E.J. Manuel and the Bills receiving corps led by Stevie Johnson and Scott Chandler as well as rookies Marquise Goodwin and Robert Woods either, as the Bills showed that they can do more than run last week against the New York Jets.
On paper, it looks as though the Bills should leave Orchard Park with a win. But as we all know games aren’t played on paper so the outcome is anyone’s guess.
The playoffs are pretty much out of the picture at this point in the season with the Bills holding a 4-7 record, but ending this season on a positive note is imperative if this team is to have any success in the future. Their schedule is a bit light the rest of the way with their opponents having a combined 20-35 record (Atlanta Falcons 2-9, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-8, Jacksonville Jaguars 2-9, Miami Dolphins 5-6, and New England Patriots 8-3). It is quite possible for the Bills to win out but realistically finishing the season 8-8 or even 7-9 would be a huge success.

The Detroit Lions' success without Calvin Johnson should only make their opponents fearful of what happens when he returns at full health after the bye week. Read More
