With only five weeks left in the regular season, the Denver Broncos are poised to make a statement.
The NFL announced that three teams can clinch a playoff spot in Week 13. The other two teams that can clinch are the Seattle Seahawks and the opponent that the Broncos will face this week, the Kansas City Chiefs. The winner of the Chiefs and Broncos game will be one step closer to the playoffs. The Broncos will get into the postseason if they take care of business against the Chiefs, and hope that the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, San Diego Chargers and the Tennessee Titans all lose this weekend. It will be tricky having to win against a formidable opponent and then just hope that the other teams lose, especially four different teams.
With that being said, I think that the Broncos might not clinch this weekend. Having all that happen for a team is nearly impossible, but they can make a statement that they belong in the playoffs if they can complete the season sweep of the Chiefs. Winning on Sunday would give the Broncos four division wins, which could mean that they will have a chance to clinch the division in Week 14 or Week 15. What the Broncos need to focus on is taking care of business from their standpoint, and everything else will fall into place. If a team that they need to lose wins, there’s no need to worry — just beat the teams on your schedule and all will be okay with the world.
The most important part is showing the league that you are a team to be reckoned with when it comes to the postseason. Now’s the time to be strong and fight to the finish.
