The Philadelphia Eagles‘ offense has been on a roll lately. The team is on a three-game winning streak, and the offense has played a huge part in that. Nick Foles is fresh off of winning NFC player of the month, and it is certainly well deserved.
Foles has been playing lights out football. He has been deadly accurate and is making no mistakes, with 16 touchdowns and zero interceptions. I am very curious to see how he will respond when there is in a rush in his face and the pressure is on.
We can expect a lot of that Sunday. Statistically, the Arizona Cardinals‘ defense blitzes more than anyone in the league. They have fiercely aggressive defensive lineman and linebackers in Darnell Dockett, Calais Campbell, Karlos Dansby and young stud Daryl Washington.
Make no mistake. this will be the biggest test the Eagles’ offense faces this year. Former Eagles defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has this defense attacking and limiting opposing offenses. This Cardinals’ defense and team is no flash in the pan; they are for real.
So, now we see if the Eagles’ offense, and team as a whole, is for real. Foles has been picking teams apart when he has had a clean pocket and time to work with. When the pressure is on and the blitz is coming, will Foles thrive or crumble like some other young quarterbacks?
These are all story lines to watch in an exciting matchup. I believe that if the Eagles play to their potential, with Kelly being able to scheme up on this defense for two weeks, and the teams gets healthy on both sides of the ball, then the Eagles can pull out the home victory.
Final prediction? Eagles over the Cardinals 24-17.
