Through the ups and downs of the offense and defense of the Baltimore Ravens there are a few constants in Baltimore. Purple Fridays are always amazing, John Harbaugh will always thank everyone for coming out during his pressers and the leg of Justin Tucker seldom falters. His talent as a kicker is as consistent as another Raven great in Matt Stover, also known as “Mr. Automatic.” With that said what do we call the current AFC Special Teams Player of the Week as well as the Month?
There are cool kicker names around the league like “Legatron” or “Young GZ” for the St. Louis Rams’ Greg Zuerlein. The Oakland Raiders even call Sebastian Janikowski “The Polish Cannon” because he has the strongest leg in the NFL. When considering nicknames let’s think about Baltimore’s guy. He is a jokester, he’s very confident and as of recent he has shown a bit of swagger after he makes a field goal or PAT attempt. We have seen him dance and raise his hands and even do the “Terio”. I think we should call him “Swag-omatic” combining the “Stover” like qualities with his swagger that comes in celebration. He has had much to celebrate about as well.
Tucker has managed to kick the Ravens to victory on a few occasions. The former Texas Longhorn made 4-of-4 FGs on Sunday, helping Baltimore beat the New York Jets. He even helped the team get a “W” against the AFC North leaders, the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks ago in overtime. Tucker’s 24 FGs made this season have him ranked third in the league. Look for the “Swag” dancing to continue from this exciting, consistent second-year player.
