Green Bay Packers Receiver Jordy Nelson Will Have a Big Thanksgiving Day

In a game the Green Bay Packers desperately need in order to keep their playoff hopes alive, there is one guy on offense that I believe will step up and get back to his old ways. This player is wide receiver Jordy Nelson.

Nelson has struggled over the past few weeks (aside from the New York Giants game) and has not put up the numbers that many fans are used to seeing. A big reason for Nelson’s struggles has been the lack of consistency at the quarterback position, but now that he finally has a veteran guy who knows the system and has confidence he will shine.

Matt Flynn was named the starting quarterback for the Packers yesterday, and it is well deserved. Flynn has lit up the Detroit Lions in the past, and a part of that has been because of great receiving play. Flynn and Nelson seem to have a nice connection, and I think the combo will thrive this afternoon.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie quarterback Mike Glennon torched the Lions’ secondary last week inside of Ford Field, and I believe if Glennon can put up numbers Flynn can too. I think Flynn will have a big game and a majority of the balls will go towards Nelson. He will once again show everyone that he still is one of the NFL’s best receivers.

Here are my projections for Nelson today: Eight catches, 130 yards, Two touchdowns and Galloping Gobbler Award Winner
