5 Keys To Victory For Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are fresh off a two week layoff thanks to the bye and sit at 6-5. It looks like the month of December will be make or break for Chip Kelly and this group of players.

The Dallas Cowboys recently rallied the troops and came back from 14 down to win. They sit at 7-5 and a half game up.

That makes Sunday's affair with the Arizona Cardinals all the more crucial as the Eagles need to keep pace with the Cowboys. They square off against them during the last week of the season in a game that could be for all the marbles, but for that game to be meaningful the Eagles are going to need to play some really good football down the stretch.

The Cardinals are no slouches. They are riding a four-game winning streak and just destroyed the Indianapolis Colts. They are playing at an extremely high level on both sides of the ball. The defense is flying around and hitting people, and they are limiting other teams in what they want to do.

The offense is finally playing up to its potential thanks to the addition of a veteran quarterback and a head coach in Bruce Arians that knows offense as well as anyone. Carson Palmer has been steady for the Cardinals. He has started to take care of the football and is finding his two big targets in future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald and ascending young receiver Michael Floyd.

The Cardinals are a force to be reckoned with in the NFC; there's no doubt about it. Let's take a look at 5 keys to victory for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

5. Pressure Carson Palmer

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles' front seven needs to put pressure on Carson Palmer or he will pick the Eagles' secondary apart with weapons like Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd. This is a game where a guy like Trent Cole is going to need to come up huge.

4. Nick Foles Needs To Build On November Performances

Nick Foles recently won NFC player of the month for November, and he needs to build on this. Was this just a flash in the pan for Foles? Let's hope not. He faces a stiff test in the form of the Cardinals defense where Foles will need to stand tall and put his feet to the fire. Let's see how the young kid fares in a pressurized game against a stout defense.

3. Running Game Needs To Be Established

The Eagles' running game will need to be established. They won't find as much room throwing the ball with shutdown cover corner Patrick Peterson on the other side. The running game will be as important as ever in this tilt.

2. Offensive Line Must Handle Cardinals' Stout Defensive Front

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals' front seven is as tough as there is the league. The Eagles' offensive line will have their hands full with the likes of Darnell Dockett, Calais Campbell, and Karlos Dansby on the other side. The offensive line will need to consistently keep Foles clean if the offense wants to have any sort of success on Sunday.

1. Riley Cooper Needs To Have A Big Game

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

Riley Cooper will be matched up with the Cardinals' second corner which could prove to be big. It is possible DeSean Jackson is totally taken out of the game with Patrick Peterson taking on the assignment of covering him. He can blanket receivers which makes it all the more important that Cooper is gets free and becomes a viable target for Foles. Cooper will need to come up big for the passing game to be successful on Sunday.
